Talks with China a good first step: Dalai Lama envoy

Envoys of the Dalai Lama and Chinese officials described talks with the Chinese government as a good first step towards mending fences on Monday.
The envoys and the Chinese government agreed to further contact on Sunday after a day of talks in the southern city of Shenzhen, near Hong Kong. The closed-door meeting in Shenzhen was the first since the Lhasa riots.
