Cyclone kills 10,000 in Myanmar town
May 6, 2008
Myanmar’s official media has reported the death of over 10,000 people in the town of Bogalay in the country’s Irrawaddy Delta.
The report confirmed fears of a spiraling death toll because of the cyclone Nargis. The government has asked for aid from the international community. The cyclone ripped through the Irrawaddy Delta on Saturday at a wind speed of 120 miles per hour.
