Rahul Gandhi then headed to the house of Ramappa Bheemappa to have his dinner. Bheemappa, a school teacher told rediff.com that it is the traditional bhoti (meat), baati (roti) and bhaaji (vegetable) that he served Rahul.
Solai, a delicacy in this part of the state, is prepared out of goat's intestine and the same was served to Rahul. Rahul's host also said that he had spent Rs 5000 on the dinner.
Rahul also made a stopover at Gadag earlier during the day where he interacted with several cotton farmers who lost their entire crop this year due to heavy rains. The farmers told Rahul that it would be of help if the loan waiver was made common in drought-hit areas and there should be no bar in terms of acres. Rahul while agreeing with them also said that they should also see whether it would be sustainable.
