PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif has called on Musharraf to quit following the defeat of his supporters in the polls while the PPP has said it will forge a 'working relationship' with the President.
Musharraf also said he had delivered on his promise of hold free, fair, transparent and peaceful polls.
He lauded the caretaker government for ensuring the conduct of impartial polls on February 18. He appreciated the role of the Election Commission and law enforcing agencies, including police, Pakistan Rangers, Frontier Corps and army, in conducting peaceful polls.
The President said Pakistan does not harbour any aggressive designs against anyone.
"Our military strategy is for defensive deterrence, but it is our belief that defence and security can only be attained through strength and never through weakness," he remarked, adding, "The nation should be proud of the fact that our army is among the best in the world."
