Holi: The traditional way

It is the season for colours. Holi, the vibrant festival is celebrated in March.

Like most festivals in India Holi too is celebrated in different parts of the country with different traditions and customs.

There is the famous Braj Holi in Uttar Pradesh, like wise Maharashtra has the Koli Holi or the Fisherman's Holi.

The fishermen colonies or Koliwadas of Mumbai celebrate the festival in traditional style.

Rediff.com's Rupali Nimkar spoke to Machhindra Tamare, an animator and Chetan Keni, the generation next of the Koli community of Mahim Koliwada in central Mumbai on how they celebrate Holi.
