Serial blasts go off in Bengaluru

The fifth blast went off near the Mallya hospital around 1430 hours. The blast site is a stone’s throw away from the 30,000-capacity Kanteerava Stadium (used mostly for football matches) on the Vittal Mallya road. The seventh blast went off on Richmond road around 1440 hours. This stretch of road has exclusive commercial and residential centres. The sixth blast went off on Langford road, located at the southern entrance from Hosur road, around 1430 hours. Major IT companies like Sun Microsystems and CISCO are based in its vicinity. The eighth blast went off at Hosaguddahalli at 1730 hours. The terror attack took place near Gopalan Mall on Mysore road. The mall, which is barely a year old, houses popular brands and is frequented by many. Adugodi is situated in the Koramangla locality. Two blasts went off in this area at 1330 hours behind the famous Forum mall. The mall is a major shopping destination in Bangalore. The fourth blast went off in a bus shelter at Nayandahalli at 1410 hours. A woman, identified as Lakshmi was killed in the blast. Nayandahalli is located seven kilometres from Bangalore city. The third blast went off at Madivala, a bustling locality of Bangalore, at 1350 hours. Madivala houses a number of grocery shops to IT malls. The bomb was placed near a granite factory under some granite slabs. The ninth blast took place near the R V Engineering College on Mysore Road at 1830 hours.
