Sikh organizations call for a shutdown across Punjab
July 23, 2008
Normal life got hit across Punjab on Wednesday, as activists of several Sikh organizations called for a shutdown across Punjab. They are protesting against the killing of a Sikh in Sirsa on July 18, allegedly by the followers of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect. Dera chief sparked a huge uproar by the Sikhs when he allegedly tried to imitate Guru Gobind Singh. The move enraged the Sikh community and he was forced to apologize.
