With most of Andhra Pradesh reeling under a dry spell, Hindus and Muslims in the state are seeking divine intervention through special prayers.
On Sunday thousands of Muslims offered special prayers or "Namaz-e-Istisqa". On Wednesday, Hindus participated in a special Yagnam. The Tirumala Tirupati Devsthanam, the state run managing committee of the Tirumala temple, organised a Ashtottara Shata Kundatmaka Maha Varuna Yagam involving 432 priests.
