Even as television channels went to town on Tuesday with the slogan ‘Singh is King’, there were celebrations galore at the Congress office on Akbar Road New Delhi.
The scenes of celebration reminded one of a general election victory. Banners, buntings, firecrackers, drums and dancing cadres were all part of the celebrations.
Though it was being dubbed as a close battle and said that the result could swing anyway, the Congressmen were well ready before hand to break in to celebrations. Preparations for the big party began at 6pm itself which gives an indication that the UPA was confident of a victory.
