Western Railway, which has been at the forefront of relief and rehabilitation work in the two years since the July 11 blasts, took the lead yet again in remembering the victims.
The department that has been organising several welfare events in the run-up to second the anniversary on Friday had a commemoration ceremony for the victims at the seven stations where the blasts went off two years ago.
Here is a look at the event in each of the seven stations:

The death train: 17:57 Churchgate-Virar Fast Local
Blast went off at: 18:30
At 8:45 am, the railway staff was cleaning the station at a frantic pace. The ticket checker had a pair of scissors and was scraping old posters from the entrance walls.
There was a plaque outside the station superintendent's wall commemorating the victims of the 7/11 blasts on this day in 2006 at 6.24 pm.
At 9 am, Assistang General Manager Chugh placed a wreath on the plaque and observed two minutes silence. Passengers who were passing by muttered a silent prayer even as they rushed to catch their daily trains. The silence on the platform was absolute.
After the AGM, the railway staff offered flowers. Commuters too paid their homage with flowers, prayers and tears.
