42 protestors arrested near Tibetan border in Nepal
July 2, 2008
Following two months of protests in Nepal, exiled Tibetan groups went on a peace march from Nepal to Tibet. The Nepal police arrested 42 Tibetans near Friendship Bridge, the only international gateway to Tibet. Two separate groups had left Kathmandu on June 25 and June 26 to the cause of Free Tibet. Tenzing Zaffranki, a Tibetan monk, had earlier said that it would be a peaceful protest march.
