Snow brings out the beauty in Kashmir

February 07, 2008
The unremitting snowfall has covered the entire valley with thick white blanket, making Kashmir, perhaps, the most beautiful place on Earth. Though it brought hazards and miseries for the people, tourists have enjoyed the snow and beauty.

The snowfalls thickness varies from three feet to 10 feet. The life in the valley has gone out of gear, with the snow and the accompanying cold, forcing people to stay indoors, and with very little of vehicular traffic on the roads.

The administration has sounded a general alert, asking people to be vigilant against the hazards of snow, particularly the avalanches in the higher reaches.
