Kashmir cut off from rest of India

February 07, 2008
Several parts of north India are still reeling under cold conditions with fog and mist disrupting air traffic.

All road and air links remained snapped with the Kashmir valley, where avalanches, triggered by heavy snow, killed one and toppled homes, as a thick blanket of snow enveloped north India on Wednesday, affecting road and air traffic.

Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab witnessed chilly winds in the morning, which brought the temperature further down.

The lowest temperature in the plains was recorded at Ganganagar in Rajasthan where the mercury dipped to 1.7 degrees on Thursday. Amongst the worst sufferers were Delhi and National Capital Region, including Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad and Sonepat.
