India, China joint anti-terror drill ends
December 15, 2008
The nine-day long joint anti-terrorism exercise, involving Indian and Chinese troops, came to an end on December 14.
The joint drill, named 'Hand in Hand 2008', held in Belgaum from December 6-14 was a continuation of ongoing military cooperation between the two countries and a part of the Annual Defence Dialogue initiated between India and China in 2006.
"The Beijing armed police conducted an anti-terror drill to strengthen its preparedness against terrorist attacks like the one in Mumbai," Xinhua news agency reported, noting that it was aimed at rescuing kidnapped hostages at a city hotel.
