About 50 members of the OFBJP gathered in front of the United Nations to protest against Pakistan's alleged encouragement of terrorists, who struck in Mumbai last month, killing over 200 people and injuring many more.
The demonstrators held placards that read 'Declare Pakistan a Terrorist State,' and 'Pakistan is Al Qaeda, Al Qaeda is Pakistan.' During the two-hour demonstration, the protestors shouted slogans condemning Pakistan and hailing India.
Some senior citizens from New Jersey's 'Go India' temple participated in the protest. The demonstrators, including a 84-year-old woman, sang songs praising India as a symbol of peace.
"This meeting is not a political propaganda to criticise the Congress party for failing to protect the country. Security is our primary concern. No matter who the ruling party is - whether it is the Congress or the BJP, the country's security is what matters," Sudhakar Reddy, an OFBJP member, told rediff.com. The BJP, he said, is ready to support the Congress fight the war on terror.
