Rain fury brings misery in Andhra Pradesh

August 10, 2008
The situation was also very grim in Toli Chowki area as more than 2000 residents of Nadeem Colony have been evacuated. Water up to five feet had entered in to the houses and boats had to be used to bring the people out.

The level of Hussain Sagar lake has also crossed the danger mark and water was being released in to the low tank bund drain.

There was no sign of any improvement in the flood situation across the state as rains continued overnight. Half of Khammam city was under water. Water had also entered the Eluru town of West Godavari district.
