Dalai Lama welcomes China's offer

Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama on Saturday welcomed China's decision to hold talks with his emissaries, but said that the dialogue must be serious.
The Dalai Lama was reacting to China's readiness, expressed on Friday, to a meeting with an envoy of the exiled leader, a step that follows weeks of calls from world leaders for dialogue in the wake of anti-government protests in Tibet.
