First ever convention of Panchayats

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said that his UPA Government is committed to bridge the gap between rural and urban India.
Addressing a national convention of Panchayats in New Delhi, Dr Singh also said that ever since it came to power, the UPA Government has focused its attention towards rural India. UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi was also present at the convention.
