Insurgency hits JK's movie aficionados
April 24, 2008
With cinema halls having downed shutters in insurgency-hit Jammu and Kashmir, catching a movie in a theatre is a pipedream that will turn a reality only when the political strife ends.
With most cinema halls having been converted into bases for security personnel, youths turn to VCDs and DVDs to watch movies.
Prior to the time when insurgency began in Kashmir, there were more than 15-16 cinema halls catering to moviegoers in the state, but the outbreak of armed insurgency resulted in closure of the halls.
