The Kannada film industry on Friday joined protests against the Hogenakkal water project by Tamil Nadu by staging a day-long dharna and demanded central intervention to halt the project.
Braving inclement weather, people representing the Kannada film industry, including film stars, technicians, directors, producers and distributors assembled near the Town Hall under the banner of the Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce and pledged their support to the stir.
The film personalities also flayed political parties for their failure to find a solution.
