Mayawati slammed the Central and Maharashtra state government for its pro-rich and pro-industrialist approach.
"Our party is not run on the money of industrialists, but on the strength of our party workers," said Mayawati.
She was hinting that how with one stroke of the pen her government in Uttar Pradesh ordered the closure of the Reliance Fresh mall that was posing a threat to traders and farmers in the state.
"The cost of essential commodities and essential goods are spiralling, but neither the Congress nor the Bharatiya Janata Party government is bothered. They all are pro-rich parties. Throw them out and elect pro-people and pro-poor man’s party the BSP," Mayawati said amidst applause.
"The farmers are committing suicides and no one is bothered about them. Out of 5,000 farmer suicides in India this year, 2000 are from Maharashtra," concluded Mayawati.
