The Central Reserve Police Force managed to enter most of the villages of violence ravaged Nandigram on Tuesday and were conducting raids, a top police official of East Midnapore district said on Tuesday.
There was no resistance from either the cadres of the Communist Party of India -
Marxist or the anti-land acquisition Bhoomi Uchhed Pratirodh Committee. CRPF personnel were patrolling different areas with the police, District Superintendent of Police S S Panda said.
The central forces were setting up five camps in the interior areas as 500 CRPF personnel conducted raids at Sonachura, Gokulnagar, Adhikaripara and other areas, he said.
