Bandh Hits Life in Punjab

Police lathicharged Sikh protestors in Ambala who tried to take out a procession defying prohibitory orders to protest against the Dera Sacha Sauda.

Ten persons, including Ambala Superintendent of Police Amitabh Dhillon and two constables, were injured in the stone pelting outside Gurdwara Badshah Bagh when about 500 Sikhs, most of them youths, and the police came face to face.

The agitating Sikhs were adamant they would take out a protest march from the gurdwara, but the police disallowed it citing prohibitory orders.

Some vehicles were also damaged during the protest.
