They walk from Meerut to New Delhi in the May heat, in which India's heartland sizzles and simmers.
They number in their thousands, and hail from across the length and breadth of India.
Rediff.com spoke to some heroes of this historic march.
Hails from Chatra, Jharkhand
It is essential for all our countrymen to know about these people who fought for our generation. They inspired generations by sacrificing their lives. Freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh and Chandrasekhar Azad were inspired by these freedom fighters and they will always be inspirational to future generations.
They taught us that we Indians should be ready to sacrifice our lives as and when required to fight for the country.
I have come here to pay homage to them. It has been a great experience to participate in this historic march.
