Life for Manisha Chalke, 25, in Malsai village in Maharashtra's Roha district, about 120 km from Mumbai, was routine. Her day consisted of taking her sheep for grazing, feeding her children and doing routine household work.
On December 10, she was grazing her sheep in the afternoon when she saw British tourist Stephen James Bennett's body hanging from a tree on the hilltop. She rushed to tell villagers about the incident, and since then life has never been same for the people of Malsai village.
"It has been a month since I saw that body hanging from the tree," says Manisha pointing towards the tree, "I still see that body."
"I had sleepless nights initially and now I have stopped taking my sheep to graze in that direction. I still cannot believe that I saw such a horrific scene," adds Manisha.
