Dr Nair has headed ISRO since 2003. A leading space research scientist and winner of the Padma Bhushan, he has led the development of the GSLV satellites in India. Under his stewardship ISRO has launched its most advanced remote sensing satellite, the RESORCESAT-1, aboard the Indian-built PSLV-C5.
The detailed contest entries were sent to Dr Nair who, after very careful and exacting deliberations with senior ISRO scientists, chose seven winners.
Four winners were invited to receive their prizes and certificates from Dr Nair at the ISRO headquarters in Bangalore on February 23, 2007.
The winners are young, extremely talented, very unique individuals.
Winners who reflect a young India.
