Death on the tracks

Chaotic scenes were witnessed outside the Safdarjung hospital in New Delhi, where some of the victims had been admitted, with relatives not being allowed to go inside the ward.

The agitated relatives held up Home Minister Shivraj Patil's motorcade as the minister was leaving after visiting those injured who have been admitted to the hospital.

The government has set up a temporary visa camp in Lahore to facilitate immediate travel by the relatives of those killed or injured in the explosions. The relatives of the victims have been asked to contact Grand Hotel in Lahore at phone numbers: 042-6360014 and 03455514576 (mobile).

The Indian High Commission has asked the relatives of the victims to approach the Mission for enquiries with regard to visas at phone numbers: 051-2828378, 051-2828377, 051-2206950-4 and 0300-8508329 (mobile).
