The people of Gujarat have defeated all 'anti-Gujarat forces' and supported the mantra of jeetega Gujarat (Gujarat will win).'
Later addressing a party workers' rally, Modi said, "We have won continuously since 1990. This win has brought a message of humility for us."
He added that the workers' euphoria was natural as it was their hard work, which had earned the party the victory.
Later addressing a press conference at the party's headquarters in Ahmedabad, Modi said: "I want to thank 5.5 crore people of Gujarat for this victory."
"This is the fifth time we have won in Gujarat and most of the time we have won with a two-third majority. This vote is a positive vote to bring back the government. All the negative propaganda used in the campaign has been rejected by the people," he said.
He said his government would continue to work for Gujarat's progress.
