BJP supporters celebrate Gujarat victory

December 23, 2007
The workers of Bharatiya Janata Party took to the streets of Ahmedabad on Sunday to celebrate after it became evident that their party would come back to power in Gujarat once again. Thousands of BJP workers, from across the state, danced on the streets, showered each other with gulal and distributed sweets.

A BJP worker held a huge picture of Modi atop a truck for the benefit of the passers-by.

"There is only one leader who can rule Gujarat and that is Narendra Modi," said Ketan Patel, a BJP worker who was dancing on the street.

"He is the lion of Gujarat and no one comes close to him in our state," added Patel.
