Modi visits his hometown

December 11, 2007
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi addressed many meetings in North Gujarat on Monday and proved once again that his clout in this BJP stronghold has become stronger.

He also attended a meeting in Vadnagar, his hometown and one of the most ancient towns of India. His meeting in the neighbouring town of Visnagar was a huge hit. While the men seemed to be in awe of him, the women were emotional.

Who is the local BJP candidate? This is what asked over 10 people, but nobody knew the answer. "Modi is the candidate," said two old women.

Modi studied in M N College of Visnagar, where he used to take part in one-act college plays. While in school, he played the legendary Gujarati character Jogidas Khuman, who was known for his bravery.
