It's a truly deadly palm. Also, deadly effective. As Priyanka Gandhi exits her SUV and takes to a waiting crowd huddled messily under a makeshift shamiana, there is absolute pandemonium.
Till she raises her hand, flashing them her hand in serene, party-logo fashion, and the noise levels drop to a hush. The crowds fall into oddly disciplined groups, eagerly positioning themselves behind the barricades -- wooden dandas that would prove completely inadequate if the audience were in charge-mode.
So it is in this peculiar, self-created reverie that Priyanka Gandhi smiles for the crowd and takes to the wobbly stage.
