t is quite a sight," says Raj Kamal, who is among the many queuing up outside second compartment of the Godavari Express at Kurla Terminus on Sunday evening to catch a sight of someone of paramount eminence inside. Some even board the compartment, go up to him, touch his feet and offer flowers. Seated on a wooden block, sporting a bright red tilak, is Lord Ganesh.
There are not many passengers on the Mumbai-Manmad train. Being a Sunday, the compartment, in which railway pass holders travel, is sparsely occupied. As the train gathers speed, passengers come around one by one to offer their prayers to their beloved diety. Bowing before him and performing the aarti, the devotees seem to feel quite at home or at a temple.
It is a temple -- a temple on wheels.
