Arguably the most colourful world leader of the 21st century is now a senior citizen.
George Walker Bush, the 43rd United States President, turns 60 years old today, July 6, 2006.
Some hail him as the leader who alerted the world about the global threat of terrorism while others are convinced he has turned the US into a global bully.
He even has an 'ism' ascribed to him, Bushism, which refers to his many statements that delight with their accidental wit.
A quick look at the man who has redefined the world, and the English language; a man who has declared war on terrorism, and changed the way mankind looks at pretzels (he passed out after choking on one, remember?).
Did you know? Bush is a fitness fanatic -- he exercises six days a week -- and an avid cyclist. Knee problems forced him to give up running. He goes to bed at 9 pm sharp.
Bushism: 'I reminded the American people, Mr prime minister, over the past months that it was not always a given that the United States and America would have a close relationship. After all, 60 years ago we were at war.' -- quoted as having told Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi last week.
