Congress Meet: Of Power, Plans & Rahul

The plenary holds significance as five states - Tamil Nadu, Kerala, West Bengal, Assam and Pondicherry - go to polls in April/May.

Chief ministers of Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala and Jammu and Kashmir arrived at the venue of the convention hours before the commencement of the CWC meet. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and senior Congress leaders received Sonia and Dr Singh at the N T Ramarao airport.

The theme of this year's session is Ateet Ki Neev, Bhavishya Ka Nirman Aur Nayee Zimmedari (Foundation of the past, building the future and new responsibilities), reflecting the party's approach to alliances.

Also, the party will spruce-up its 'Aam Aadmi' (common man) image.
