A date with the Taj
There's a movement evolving on the Internet to nominate the New Wonders of the World.
The Taj Mahal, naturally, is on this list of special nominees.
Our 351-year-old majestic monument, keeps company with the likes of the Acropolis in Athens, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the Colosseum in Rome, Paris' Eiffel Tower, the Great Wall of China, the Pyramids of Giza, the Big Apple's Statue of Liberty and many more.
The Taj Mahal receives a stupendous three million tourists every year.
That's not as high a number as the Great Wall of China that receives some 10 million tourists in a year. Or the Eiffel Tower that saw 6 million faces in 2004.
But the Taj nevertheless has seen some rather interesting faces over the centuries.
