I-Day: The nation celebrates

"Today from this historic Red Fort, I appeal to every one of you to rededicate yourself to build a new India," said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, as he addressed the nation on Independence Day.
The prime minister also emphasised that 'we are all Indians. In our progress lies the progress of the nation'.
In view of the recent Mumbai blasts and a warning from the United States about possible terror attacks, there was an unprecedented security cover all over the nation.
