The saddest thing about the looting, especially for long-time residents, is that human beings have ravaged what nature left alone.

The historic French Quarter, which was spared the worst flooding, received more than its share of bad luck at the hands of looters.

In Biloxi, Mississippi, signs in front of smashed homes read: 'You loot, we shoot.' The nightmare continues.
