A hard rain still pummels India

In Bangalore, the situation improved a bit on Wednesday, after the city struggled with the wettest October in nearly 50 years.

Most of the areas in the information technology hub have been under knee-deep water, reminiscent of Mumbai's Terrible Tuesday.

Several Bangalore lakes overflowed and flooded homes in their vicinity. Vehicles crawled through grid-locked roads, children stranded in school buses wailed in hunger and the city administration scrambled tirelessly to handle complaints pouring in to their helplines.

Not Mumbai on July 26, not Chennai two days ago, this is Bangalore on Wednesday. But it's hard to tell the difference.
