The man who brought Lalu down

Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar, Bihar's chief ministerial candidate, embodies the adage that politics makes strange bedfellows.

Because, as Janata Dal leader, Kumar was instrumental in now BJP president L K Advani's arrest in Bihar in 1990.

In fact, the 55-year-old Kumar, who is now Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's sworn enemy, was once Lalu's shadow.
