Blind couple playing holi, photo by Sipra Das
Colours of Shyness

There are moments in life we want to keep under wraps.

These moments are our very own. We keep them hidden deep in our hearts.

Moments like touching the fingers of your beloved one in a lonely classroom on the last day of college.

Moments like passing answer chits to your friend in the examination hall.

Moments like sitting by the lake with someone you love.

Photographer Sipra Das has captured all these moments with her lens.

These are all ordinary events in our lives.

But what makes these images different is that they are all from the lives of 'different' people.

The heroes of Das' photographs cannot see the world.

Some call them 'disabled' while others say 'visually impaired.' They may not see the light, but their lives are as colourful as a rainbow.

To show this rainbow to the world, Das is holding exhibitions across the country -- New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Nagpur and Moradabad.
