The scorched state of Gujarat waited with bated breath for the monsoon to bring some relief, but it has only brought pain, displacement and huge damage to human life and property.
Incessant rains since last week has devastated Gujarat. Over 130 people have died, over 500 villages are still marooned and inaccessible.
The Central government has announced financial assistance of Rs 5 billion for providing relief and the state government has allocated Rs 2.6 billion for the same.
