A week after the tsunami waves ravaged lives in large parts of south India, life is slowly limping back to near-normal for the survivors. Relief work, both by the government agencies and volunteers, is underway.
For the Indian defence services, this has been the biggest peacetime relief operation ever. In the picture, Indian soldiers are making a checklist of relief material at the Car Nicobar airport, which was among the structures flattened by the tidal waves on December 26.
