It was an emotion-filled moment for Kashmiris when Prime Minister Manmohan Singh flagged off the bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir on Thursday. This is the first time in 58 years that civilians from both sides of the Line of Control will go across to the other side.
Amidst unprecedented security, 21 passengers in two buses waved to thousands gathered at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium as the bus began its historic 170-km journey to Muzaffarabad at 11:00 IST.
