'The present government will not be able to continue'

You predicted that bad times have begun for the Manmohan Singh government on September 16. Is that correct?

My prediction is that the one-month period beginning September 16 is bad for the central government. This will result in some big advantage to the Opposition and a loss to the government. The government will lose, but it will not be thrown out of power completely. Some of its parties (constituents) will remain in power and some will go. The Opposition will be very happy to unite to overthrow the government. This is the prediction. I am an astrologer, not a politician, please remember that.

Will Dr Singh continue as prime minister?

It is difficult to predict about a man who has no horoscope. He (Dr Singh) feels it is a sin to make a correct prediction about him. That is what he told everyone in New York. He says one who predicts (that is myself) would go to hell. The Sri Granth Sahib -- the holy book of the Sikhs -- says there is no hell. God is very kind.

Dr Singh is dealing with corrupt people by inducting them into his cabinet. Some of his ministers are involved in cheating, theft, misappropriation, have criminal records and have even murdered people. He says making predictions is a sure way of going to hell. Where is the hell? It is here. He has put thieves and culprits into his government and he is preaching governance.

How long will his government last in your opinion?

His government's future does not depend upon the Congress party alone. It depends upon a number of other factors like what the political parties who are supporting his government want to do.

His future depends upon the Congress leadership. He does not know his date of birth. His mother died when he was barely few days old (Madan forgets that Dr Singh has younger brothers and sisters). Because of the non-availability of his date, time and place of birth his individual prediction cannot be made.

How long will the government continue in power?

The present government will not be able to continue because their time is very weak as compared to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The first setback will come to them within a month beginning September 16.

The issue of tainted ministers will get momentum. People are thrown out of their jobs if they are caught indulging in corruption; here, they are made ministers.
