Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of India and President Pervez Musharraf of Pakistan met for the first time on Friday, September 24, in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.
Also present were External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, and Information Minister Sheikh Rashid.
