Meet 44-year-old Dattatray Balakrishna Kanekar, who has dedicated his life to the lord.

He entered the Limca Book of Records in 1996 for having the biggest private collection of Ganesha idols in the country.

Kanekar, who teaches painting at Antonio D'Souza High School in Byculla, Mumbai, says he has 1,800 idols, 500 Ganesha key chains and numerous calendars depicting the god.

He also has a huge collection of devotional cassettes.

"In our family everyone is an artist so this love of Ganesha is there in our blood," he says in his tiny office in Charni Road.
