Former deputy chief ministers Chhagan Bhujbal and Vijaysinh Mohite-Patil, Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar and Congress leaders Ashok Chavan and Patangrao Kadam were among the 25 cabinet ministers inducted into the Vilasrao Deshmukh-led Democratic Front ministry in Maharashtra.

They were sworn-in on Tuesday at a function held at Azad Maidan, Mumbai.

Of the 25, 14 ministers are from the NCP, while eight are from the Congress. Three independents were also inducted into the council of ministers.

The names that did not figure in the list included that of Govindrao Adik and Kripashankar Singh of the Congress and Padamsinh Patil and Madhukar Pichad of the NCP.
