'You will be a great man one day'

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's brothers Surjit Singh and Daljit Singh are younger than him by 18 and 20 years, respectively. As a result, he was almost like a father figure to them. Yet, he was also a friend, philosopher, and guide.

Surjit and Daljit were toddlers when Manmohan Singh was an undergraduate. The brothers cannot recall a single moment when their 'Pappaji' wasn't studying. He was so fond of studies, they say, that killing time by gossiping was just out of the question.
