Indian summers should have topped Bob Marley's list of favourites. The man behind the legendary Sun is Shining song would surely have been impressed by the sunny disposition of our summers.
But the reggae king's social conscience would have been jolted to see hundreds of thousands of people suffer in the unrelenting heat wave and the accompanying shortage of water.
For the more fortunate, summer can be fun. Drinking multicoloured sherbets, gobbling up immensely tempting barf golas (ice lollipops), wearing ultracool cottons and jumping into rivers and streams...
