PBD: Glimpses from the sideline

   Next >

The recently concluded second Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in New Delhi was a glitzy affair where, among the more serious interactions that took place, Non-Resident Indians were spotted enjoying both the Indian cuisine and the colourful folk dances.

On the second day of the three-day long meet, the NRIs were welcomed for lunch by women greeting them with folded hands in the traditonal namaste. At the entrance to the 'Dilli Dawat' enclosure, where a sumptuous feast awaited the delegates, musicians seated on a specially erected dias played Rajasthani folk tunes.
